How Do I Sell Surplus Solar Power Back to GVEC?
When it comes to saving energy, we firmly believe that the old saying “every little bit helps,” couldn’t be more true. If you do a Google search for “how to save money on electricity bills,” you’ll be flooded with tips like “turn off your lights” and “close your drapes on hot days.” Depending on your general usage habits and the size of your home, these excellent suggestions can have varying impact on your electricity bill. That’s why we regularly offer such tips on helping homeowners cut electricity usage.
Saving Energy the Sunshine Way
What if you could harness the sun’s plentiful, free energy to make a much larger impact on your bill? What if you could use solar energy to generate even greater savings for you and your family? You can with a solar panel system from GVEC Home.
All-in-One Solar Solutions: An Efficient Way to Start Your Solar Journey
At GVEC Home, we work hard to deliver an all-in-one, second-to-none solar experience for every customer. Our goal is to deliver a top-notch, cost-effective solar panel system, with installation, for your Texas home.
Generate More Energy Than You Need
In order to sell energy back to the grid, you must produce more than you consume. We’ll work with you to determine your home’s energy needs and your general usage habits and use that information to suggest the right system for your needs.
Complete a GVEC Interconnection Agreement
Any surplus energy produced by your GVEC Home solar panel system can be sold back to GVEC as credits on your electricity bill. To sell excess power back to us, however, you’ll need to complete a GVEC Home Interconnection Agreement.
Solar Panel Installation
You can rely on GVEC Home Solar services to make the initial site survey, help you with permits and install the equipment. We’ll also help set up energy monitoring through your home computer network and show you how to use it. And you can count on us to help you find any tax incentives and rebates you’re entitled to.
Selling Back Excess Energy
This is the easiest part. Solar energy must be used as it is produced, but members can sell any surplus back to GVEC at the current rate. As we mentioned, to be eligible to sell back excess energy, you must complete the Interconnection Agreement. This form sets the terms and conditions to allow the sale of excess solar energy back to GVEC.
It’s important to note that, no matter if you decide to sell excess energy back to GVEC or not, you can still install and use a GVEC Home solar panel system to supplement your regular electricity usage from the grid. However, to get the most from your system, we strongly suggest completing an Interconnection Agreement.
